In Memory of Dale Dietzel

On Monday, August 23rd, 2010, the Gera Old Tractor Club lost a friend and active member, Dale Dietzel.

Dale & Bud Dale was never one to back down from a challenge and undertook the daunting task of handling parking at the annual show this past June with vigor. Thanks to his great planning and execution, parking was a breeze this year.  Here’s a picture of he and friend Bud Davidson tooling the show grounds in his golf cart, making sure that parking went off without a hitch.  Dale always was willing to tackle difficult projects for the club and make them seem easy.

We are all going to miss his enthusiasm and his sense of humor.  Meetings just won’t be the same without Dale, an avid Farmall fan, on hand to rib the John Deere guys.    Here’s a picture of Dale’s 1942 Farmall H on display at the 2010 Gera Old Tractor Days.

Dale’s family will receive visitors tomorrow, Friday August 27th at Ware Smith funeral home in Reese, Michigan from 2pm to 8pm.  Services will be held Saturday, August 28th at 11at at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Reese, Michigan.  Interment following at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.  Military graveside honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #139 in Reese.

The Gera Old Tractor Club members are planning to take their tractors in the funeral procession.  Plans are still being made, but if you would like to participate, please contact Bud Davidson.  Plans are to unload at the water tower.

Rest in Peace, Dale
